NU SEDS Assistant Professor Nursultan Kabylkas, from the Department of Computer Science, is spearheading efforts to produce Kazakhstan's first locally manufactured microchips. Working with a team of advanced IT engineers, Kabylkas has successfully designed Kazakhstan's first 'Designed in Kazakhstan' processor, which is set to debut early next year. His work aims to establish a foundation for the microchip manufacturing industry, paving the way for technological advancements and training a new generation of specialists.
Having returned to Kazakhstan after studying in the U.S. through the Bolashak program, Kabylkas is on a mission to drive innovation in programming and hardware design.
