Overview
Geologists are specialists who study Earth processes, explore for mineral resources, and develop extraction methods. Geologists work in the fields of mineral resource development, environmental protection, and land rehabilitation after mining operations.

A BSc in Geology is a four-year program in which students study the origin and evolution of processes on Earth.

The program includes the study of rocks, minerals, other solid materials, their composition, history, and related processes. The Bachelor of Science in Geology combines a range of skills, including fieldwork, laboratory research, and problem-solving skills related to Earth processes. Being a geologist means applying knowledge of chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics to find answers to important questions about processes occurring on Earth and to identify natural resource deposits. Graduates of this program primarily work in oil and mining companies.
